Ribbons ( Quilt Block #28)

Ribbons. I like  ribbons I always have and still do even at age 32 (shhhh don't tell anyone :o) ). I just did a Google image search on ribbons and there are oodles of pictures. Ribbons were used everywhere and were not just  in women's and girls fashion.  Ribbons were used in family crests, as prizes, decorations, military metals, and more.  The blog French Laundry has some really fantastic example of antique hats with some really cool uses of ribbon and ribbon embroidery. Check it out.

So without further delay today's block is appropriately called Ribbons.  This one worked up very quickly. There are many color options for this one. If this one is done in a smaller scale (this is a 12 inch block) it would be a neat border on a quilt or as a table runner. Ribbons is best done in 3 colors- a solid and a light and a dark print. In this case  I used two purple fabrics. This color placement has a military like (Chevron) feel to it.

Here's what a whole quilt done in this design might look like. It has a very neat design. Click the picture to go the the website where this is found.

Also in other news I have reached  451 views from all over the world including the USA, Russia, Germany, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and the newest is Qatar! Qatar is a small country in the Middle East that  borders only Saudi Arabia  to it's south.
